Working with Peruvian colleagues, we seek to research and disseminate knowledge and practice of Peruvian shamanism and ethnobotany.

Directed by Dr. Doug Sharon, and with the help of multiple partners in the U.S. and Peru, including the Missouri Botanical Garden, San Diego State University, SUNY Buffalo, Linfield College, and other institutions, North Peru Projects has helped students from over 20 different colleges and universities gain experience in their respective fields of interest. This project allows students studying medical anthropology, ethnobotany, biology, pharmacology, and biochemistry to apply their skills and research shamanism and the traditional use of medicinal plants in Northern Peru.
